    FISH (Fluorescence in situ hybridization)
    Fluorescence in situ hybridization
A method of hybridization with target DNA using a probe labeled with a fluorescent dye, and detection of fluorescent sites that are colored at specific wavelengths as signals on chromosomes under a fluorescence microscope.
There are two methods: a direct method in which a probe labeled with a fluorescent dye is directly bound to the target DNA, and an indirect method in which a probe labeled with a labeling substance is bound to the target DNA, followed by binding of the labeled probe and the fluorescent substance to generate color.

COMMENT

How to Submit Lung Carcinoma ALK Gene (FISH)
1. Since the presence or absence of carcinoma cells may be unknown, please attach a copy of the pathology report when requesting the test. (However, this is not required if the company is conducting general pathology tests.) If for some reason you cannot attach this information, please include the name of the pathology diagnosis (histological type, etc.) and as much clinical information, etc. as possible in the request form.
2. Materials shall be unstained slides of lung carcinoma (prepared from formalin-fixed paraffin blocks.) Please use silane or other coating slides and after thinly sectioning, dry the slides overnight at approximately 40°C before submission.
3. Thinly section the tissue to a thickness of 4 to 6 μm. When baking to prevent tissue detachment, treat for 2 to 24 hours.
4. When requesting with paraffin blocks, please contact with our sales staff as the turnaround time will be delayed due to the preparation of unstained slides.
